Make a scholarship Donation
Want to make a donation to the Canadian Dance Standards Scholarship fund? Send us your name, address and phone number with your donation. We issue you a receipt for your gift and will award the scholarship on your behalf at the next CDS convention. We will have the recipient personally forward you a thank you letter in the mail.
Apply for a scholarship
To apply for the following scholarships please read application instructions for each scholarship category.
Category one: Dance Student ($50—$100)
Category one scholarships are awarded at annual conventions
Category Two: Semi Professional Dance Student ($100-$200)
Students must be actively involved in dance education and training of more than 15 hours per week.
Category Three: Post Secondary Student in Dance Studies ($500)
Applicant must be a registered student at a recognized educational institution. Applicants must submit proof of college/university registration, personal bio including years of dance training and disciplines, career goals and dance subject interests.
Category Four: Dance Researcher ($500-$1500) Expert Researcher ($1500- $3000)
Dance researcher applicants must be current dance researchers or a graduate student in dance or movement sciences (kinesiology, human kinetics, physical education, coaching or related discipline) with intent to take on graduate level studies in dance. Application must include; Proof of enrollment at a recognized university, letter of recommendation from graduate supervisor, a detailed outline of the research proposal, a detailed outline of how the scholarship funds are needed and how they will be used. Appplication must also include, personal dance bio and three contact references to verify dance interest. Experienced researchers applying for expert researcher funding must include previous papers/publications.

Scholarship Review Committee
We are now accepting applications for new volunteer scholarships review committee positions across Canada. Applicants must hold a minimum of a bachelors degree in Dance, an area influential to dance or related movement science. Experience in research methedology is preffered.
Committee members review reseach proposals and vote on scholarship recipients. Interested candidates please email Sarah.
